# Sales dashboard

Open the main menu and select **SALES DASHBOARD**. The dashboard must be enabled
for the store.

## Select the period

1. Tap the date-range control on **Sales Dashboard**.
2. Choose a preset such as **Today**, **Yesterday**, **Last 7 Days**, **Last 30
Days**, **This Month**, **Last Month**, **This Year**, or **Last Year**.
3. For a custom period, select the start and end dates on the calendar and tap
**Apply**. Use **Cancel** to keep the current selection.
4. Check the date range displayed on the dashboard before comparing figures.

Preset selections apply immediately. Use **Refresh Dashboard** to request fresh
data for the current selection.

## Read the summary cards

| Card | What the app shows |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Sales | The reported sales figure, with subtotal and tax. |
| Running Sales | The reported value of running orders, with subtotal and tax. |
| Occupied Tables | An occupied-table figure with pending and confirmed counts. |
| Pending Bills | The reported outstanding pending-bill figure. |

Keep running sales and pending bills in view when reviewing the store's
position. Do not assume every figure on the dashboard represents a completed,
paid order.

## Review the breakdowns

* **Order Types** compares values across the store's order types.
* **Payment Types** shows the payment mix and its proportions.
* The shift chart compares sales across shifts.
* **Top 5 Categories** and **Top 5 Products** show the leading categories and
products returned for the selected period.

Touch chart elements to inspect values where a tooltip is available. Compare
the same store and date range when reviewing another screen.

## Empty data or a load error

If the dashboard shows **No dashboard data available**, check the selected
period and refresh. If it shows **Failed to load dashboard data**, restore the
connection and tap **Retry**. An unavailable response should not be treated as
confirmation that the store made no sales.
