# Sales reports

Open **REPORTS** from the main menu. This entry appears when reports are enabled
for your store.

## Compare Today and This Month

The top of **Sales Reports** contains **Today** and **This Month** cards. Each
shows **Grand Total** and the available component amounts:

* Sub Total
* Tax
* Discount
* Service Charge
* Delivery
* Packaging

These headline cards use their own periods. Changing a breakdown card's dates
does not change the Today and This Month cards.

## Inspect a breakdown

| Card                       | What to review                                      |
| -------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------- |
| Sales by Order Type | The distribution of sales across order types. |
| Sales by Shift | The distribution of sales across shifts. |
| Collection by Payment Mode | Amounts recorded against payment methods. |
| Tax Collected by Type | The reported tax breakdown. |
| Pending Bills | Outstanding bill amounts in the returned breakdown. |

Each breakdown card has its own date control and starts with the current month
through today.

1. Find the card you want to inspect.
2. Open its date control.
3. Select the desired period and tap **Apply** when using the calendar.
4. Wait for that card to update.
5. Check the dates on every card before comparing them.

> **Note**
>
> Date selections are independent. A card set to yesterday and another set to
> this month will show different periods, even though they appear on the same
> screen.

## Refresh and recover

Use **Refresh all** or pull down to reload the headline totals and default
breakdowns. For a card using a custom range, reopen its date control and apply
the range to request fresh data for that card.

If a card fails to load, check connectivity and refresh its data. A missing
result or dash is not evidence of zero sales. Compare store, dates, and whether
you are looking at sales, collections, or pending bills before investigating a
total that appears different from [Sales Dashboard](/sales/dashboard).
